Simplify Your Life?
![]() |
I'm so happy to put my fashion hat on again and bring to you the current trends that are on the scene. More and more I am noticing companies are catching on and trying to make our crazy lives easier. Things are sleeker, less complicated and most of all more user friendly. From press on nail polish to renting runway clothes. Who has time these days to do anything the "traditional" way? If you do, I am so jealous! Don't get me wrong, I still make time to bake cookies and cakes (from the box), but I added the ingredients and stirred! I must admit, I tune in to Martha Stewart on XM Radio, and she makes me feel like it is possible to still do" from scratch" with anything. People call in and get advice on curtains or furniture they handmade, I am like, "who are these people?" When Martha talks about making spaghetti for dinner, it's as if she wants us to go out back on our ranch, kill the grass fed cow to make those lovely meatballs! It ain't happening! Our lives are filled with dates and schedules, parent/teacher conferences, car rider lines, interviews, networking events and etc. Any company that can simplify my fashion or beauty life, I pay attention to. I am going to give you the run down on some things that caught my eye. Start looking, you will find a more efficient, greener way to do alot of things now days.

Renting Designer Bags
Bag Borrow or Steal is now Avelle. These are the folks that give women a chance to wear Chanel bags without the Chanel price. Here's how it works:
- Customers pay a monthly fee
- Pick and order handbags on line
- Borrow them for as long as you like
- Monthly fees range from $19.95 /month to $99.95/month for the diva membership (couture collection)
There is a downside. After reading some of the reviews, it seems like there are a few flaws. Ladies have said they have received their bags with gum and used tissues still inside. A former employee said that hundreds of ladies pay high monthy fees, and are placed on waiting lists, when the company only has 3 0r 4 bags in the style they selected. So if there are only a few bags in certain styles and you can keep the bag for as long as you like, then that makes for a really long wait. There have also been claims that the bags that were returned to them were knock-offs, and they had no way of knowing for certain because the bags that were sent from the company were not "marked." So, weigh the pros and cons, read the reviews and go from there.
Renting Designer Shoes - Gone Too Far?
Montana Rader created the first and only shoe rental company in 1995. Lanvin, Prada and Christian Louboutin are just a few of the luxury labels in stock. Available for advertising campaigns, commercials, television, look books, black tie events and weddings. Here's what's impressive, no vintage styles, they all seem to be current. Wow!
